Staying Creative During Quarantine: Part 2!

One year into the Covid-19 pandemic (and subsequent theatre industry shutdown) and I’m still finding new ways to stay creative and keep the arts in my life!

Here are some things I’ve been up to:

  1. I launched a podcast! It’s been almost an entire year since the start of Guyzrcrazy, and it’s been an incredible project - I’ve learned so much about podcasting and producing, had some wonderful conversations about gender and relationships with our guests, and found a new audience! Through this I’ve also guested on a number of other podcasts (not in the theatre space) about life, love, and more! Several examples include Out of the Blank, Real Talk, Okay So, and Kris McPeak.

  2. I was featured on the Broadway Babble podcast! I had so much fun chatting with host Matt about the musical Gypsy.

  3. I watched Hamilton on Disney+ probably 100 times!

  4. I did a virtual cabaret with Tabletop Broadway - the “Live From Quarantine” benefits artists impacted by the arts industry shutdown, and performing virtually was such a unique and cool experience!

  5. I grew my Tiktok following by posting theatre/audition tips & tricks based on my own experiences in the industry, and I’ve loved connecting with like-minded people!

  6. I gave a virtual talk at Lafayette College about my experience post-graduation in the arts industry

  7. I’ve self taped. A lot. Such a strange adjustment from open calls!

  8. I was featured by the Marquis Players, a student run Lafayette College theatre group, for my work post-grad

  9. I’ve watched virtual panels, discussions, and Q&As through various platforms to learn about the industry, it’s current direction, it’s shortcomings/improvements, and more!

  10. I was a guest on Off The List Podcast, where host Hannah and I talk about movies!

  11. I refreshed my audition book!

  12. I began working in film development and have read so many cool new works!

  13. I was featured on Tenacious Theatrics’ series “How We Keep the Art Alive”

  14. I joined Clubhouse and have learned so much from industry professionals

  15. I spoke with Lexi on her podcast The Smart Singer about my experience as an actor!

  16. I participated in the March on Broadway to work towards a more inclusive, diverse, and equitable theatre industry.

  17. Coming up I’m singing in a virtual Disney cabaret with The Drama Company!

Despite not performing for over a year, I’ve been able to stay so busy and so fulfilled by finding other creative endeavors! It’s been a learning experience, but a valuable one. Can’t wait to incorporate these new platforms into my professional life as well!
